Spell of Seville Myrurgia is a vintage cologne with a fascinating history and a captivating scent. Its name refers to the city's charm and mystery. It was launched in 1933.
It is a type of oriental-spicy fragrance with floral and woody touches.
The Perfumer was Jean Carles (creator of classics such as Taboo (Dana's).
Perfume Notes
– Top notes: Aldehydes, bergamot, lemon, neroli, peach, strawberry.
– Heart notes: Carnation, jasmine, rose, lily of the valley, ylang-ylang, iris.
– Base notes: Sandalwood, benzoin, tonka bean, vanilla, vetiver, amber.
The original bottle is very elegant, with gold details and Andalusian motifs (such as a guitar, a flamenco dancer, and a bullfighter).
It is an elegant and nostalgic perfume, with a very characteristic Spanish touch.
Some compare it to Chanel No. 5 but spicier and with a woody and balsamic background.
The older bottles may have lost some of their citrus notes, but they retain their warmth.
